Developments in Sweden since the 2022 Nordic Copyright Symposium in Kristiansand

1. Introduction
Since the last Nordic Copyright Symposium in Kristiansand, Norway, in 2022 the Swedish implementation of the DSM directive has entered into force and Sweden has held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This report will give a short overview of the many new and altered provisions in the Swedish copyright act that the implementation of the DSM directive resulted in, as well as an account of the Swedish priorities in the field of copyright during the recent Presidency. An account is also given of future legislative initiatives as well a few recent Swedish court cases. The report is based on the presentation made at the Nordic Copyright Symposium in Copenhagen in September 2024.
